Where do I get my FTP information?

Your FTP information will be available from your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or your web design company.

What is FTP?

File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a way of transferring files over the Internet. It is used to download and upload files to the internet.

In order to edit your website using EQcms, we need your FTP information in order to upload and download your web files to our system. EQcms will store this information securely and will never disclose such information to third parties.

What exactly is this information?

Your FTP information consists of the following:

An FTP address

For example...

• ftp.yourwebsite.com
• 123.456.789.121
• www.yourbusiness.com

An FTP username

For example...

• yourwebsite.com
• businessname

FTP password

Could be anything.

When you want to edit your website using EQcms, it will connect to your website FTP address and log-in with your FTP username and FTP password and gain access to the server.
